About Us
High Water Homestead is a 4.5-acre slice of Appalachian heaven nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our free-roaming chickens spend their days foraging through lush grasses and snapping up tasty bugs, just as nature intended. We are deeply committed to sustainable living—no pesticides, no shortcuts—just honest, organic practices and happy, healthy animals. At High Water Homestead, everything we do is rooted in respect for the land, the animals, and the people we serve.
Practices
At High Water Homestead, we believe in working with the land, not against it. Our farm practices are rooted in sustainability and the natural rhythms of the earth. We use no pesticides or synthetic chemicals—ever. Instead, we rely on companion planting to naturally deter pests, boost soil health, and enhance crop productivity.

Our animals are raised without antibiotics or additives, and their waste is composted back into the soil, enriching it for future growth. Every element of our homestead feeds into the next in a thoughtful, closed-loop system—food scraps become compost, compost grows healthy plants, plants feed animals, and animals fertilize the land. This cycle supports a vibrant, balanced ecosystem where everything has a purpose and nothing goes to waste.

We’re not just growing food—we’re cultivating a living, breathing system of abundance.
