Veteran-Owned and Operated Farm
After retiring from the Army in 2020, Matt and Kara founded Rutter’s Ranch with a mission to provide high-quality, ethically raised food to their community. Every aspect of the farm reflects their dedication to sustainable practices and animal welfare.
Their animals thrive on locally milled feed, roam freely in large wood-lot pastures on the 75-acre farm, and enjoy plenty of space to express natural behaviors. Poultry are fully free-range, while livestock graze rotationally across large, carefully managed pastures—an approach that not only ensures healthier animals but also helps regenerate the soil for future growth.
All pork products are processed with the utmost care at a USDA-certified facility, free from added nitrites or nitrates (except those naturally occurring in sea salt and celery powder). Their sausages and cured meats feature only the finest ingredients, many thoughtfully sourced from Italy, to create rich, authentic flavors.
Rutter’s Ranch is also home to Project Victory Gardens, a nonprofit organization offering agritherapy, animal therapy, and farm-to-table education. This initiative is dedicated to supporting Veterans, Military personnel, and the wider community by promoting healing, resilience, and a deeper connection to the land.
